As a mysterious autumn night turns to intrigue, we commemorated the 3rd anniversary of the International Club of DC and the 61st anniversary of the United Nations with a memorable international celebration of music, wine, food, and dancing at the historic Post Office Pavilion. Attendees enjoyed an unforgettable evening of elegance and sophistication while dancing to a 40-piece classical orchestra as well as a Latin band. We thank all our members for helping make our events successful and joining us for our anniversary celebration.

Ladies and gentleman, my name is Sanjaya Hettihewa. I am the President of the International Club of DC and it is an honor for me to welcome you to our third anniversary gala. It is a privilege to celebrate our anniversary with our friends at the United Nations Association. Paula, thank your cooperation.
Over the last 3 years, we have organized over 400 diverse events for our members, donated over $10,000 to charity, and volunteered over 500 hours of community service to help combat hunger in the Washington DC area. I’m also pleased to announce that we surpassed 22,000 members last month.
Ladies and gentlemen, none of this would be possible if not for the support and dedication of our committees, friends and partners, and of course, your support. I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize Natascha Gerlach who is the chairperson of the gala committee for all her dedication and effort. I’d also like to recognize the efforts of Tony Daza, Maggie Brunet, Kelly Williams, Joe McArdle, Christina Anderson and our volunteer committee for all their support.
Before I conclude my remarks, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you of our New Year’s Eve Gala at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel. It will be by far one of the grandest events we’ve organized and I hope to see you there.
